I am definitely planning to recreate this bathroom in my near future.  Keep an eye out for a couple of new things on this blog:
1. it may get a little re-naming
2. it may focus on the remodel of an intensely huge 4-square craftsman house
3. it may be another 8 months before there is a new post.  who the hell knows?

im not even a horse person

this is amazing. and I'm not even a horse person.  Something so wild. un-tamed. strangely inspiring. and the color. holy lord the color is marvelous.  I know it's wrong to eat horses, but yum.

today i'm feeling a bit yellow- becuase there is NO way i could actually do this. I really want to.. but... you know the drill.  chicken to put anything overly personal out there.

This blogoshpere project is incredibly inspirational, and came across my reader at a time when I really needed to feel like I am not the only person out there struggling, living full of self-doubt, and in general grasping at alot of effing straws.

while katniss may be the obvious choice for everyone's halloween costume next year, (in fact, i've even heard the theme bouncing around on wedding blogs- can you say Cuckoo?) I have my heart set on Miss Effie Trinket. I'll admit I was a little disappointed with her (or lack of) 'affected capitol' accent, which I will be heavily playing up as I prance around shouting "may the odds, be everrrrrrr in your favor!" (in my head, it sounded more British, which actually makes no sense. I digress). But, the purple is amazing. And any excuse to use my hot-glue gun is a good one.

the movie left me feeling a little blase about the strength of the character's quote/un-quote L.O.V.E... but i am looking forward to the next installment for more ms. trinket.

that's right, i've been a very bad designer and i've been served with an official summons. To small claims court. How fun / slash/ are you effing kidding me?. I wont go so far as to name the offending party in writing... but will say that they are quite possibly the "Worst" Plumbing company out there. good thing I married a lawyer?

rainy seattle friday

as an escape from an oh so typical rainy seattle friday, i am reminiscing about istanbul's spice market. where it is hot and spicy, and i was tan. you know what sounds amazing right now? that sweet apple tea the shopkeepers all serve while trying to sell you carpets.

or should we move to spokane and buy this house?

Hello, Calacatta Gold, are you out there?

Word on the street is that a high profile project in Dubai has bought up 10 million square feet of calacatta gold marble, effectively shutting off the supply from the one mountain in italy to the rest of the world. I dont think it's good form to use profantities on a blog. But Fuck.
This is what I call a design crisis. I need 2o slabs. Stat. If you see any, you know, laying around, please send them my way.

I'm not in the holiday spirit much this year, and as a result, the christmas music that the ladies in my office have blaring is either:

a. making me grumpier

b. putting me to sleep (this is happening as i type)

or maybe c, "both".

Favorite thing of the holiday season so far: Sonna's mom's Russian Tea.

NB Ladies + Champagne

The lovely ladies at NB Design Group finally threw a party to celebrate our new office space! It was a wild party with over 300 people from the design community stopping by to toast our new digs. I'm at work today, feeling a little *sleepy. Insert the obvious adjective that usually follows a late night out. Cheers!

orange crush: part 2

several years back I took on the challenge of 're-decorating' my then boyfriend's bachelor pad. the goal was to create a space that I could live in... which meant removing the black plastic playboy shower curtain and removing the mold from the sink dishes. ewwwwww. (to his credit, the offending dishes were not his. there is no excuse however, for the shower curtain).

at some point i introduced orange into the space. the then boyfriend (now husband) went a little crazy (read: obsessed) with the new color, and it took years (literally) to get the orange back OUT of the house. Now.. believe it or not, I'm hot to bring it back.

The obsession has shifted back to me in a fit of tangerine induced karma.
